Tickets for the 2026 Craig Brown Cup, in aid of the Russell Anderson Foundation, are now on sale.
General admission tickets are priced at £10, with 12 & Unders free of charge (maximum three per ticket).
There are also a limited number of Main Stand tickets available at £20, which include tea, coffee or a Bovril and a pie.
This year's event takes place at Cove Rangers Balmoral Stadium on Saturday 6th June with a 3 pm kick-off, with doors opening at 1.30 pm.
Former Aberdeen captain and Scotland international Russell Anderson is the latest to confirm his inclusion, joining Joe Lewis, Richie Byrne, Darren Mackie, Phil McGuire, Derek Young, Gavin Rae, Lee Miller and Still Game’s Sanjeev Kohli.
Russell is looking forward to catching up with some of his former team-mates. “It should be a great occasion, The Foundation was involved last year at the last minute and I was already committed elsewhere on the day but I played a couple of years ago and really enjoyed seeing the lads again.
“The main beneficiaries however are the youngsters we support through our work in the city and the more we can raise for them, the more we can achieve.”
In addition to the match, there will be a bouncy castle, pre-match entertainment from Aberdeen Cheer & Dance and Alba Bagpipes & Highland Dancers, plus the chance to win some fabulous prizes in the raffle, which will be drawn on the day.
The origins of the Craig Brown Cup can be traced back to 2018 at Heathryfold Park, home of Sunnybank FC. Founder Graham Watt, who organises the annual fundraiser with his wife, Cat, who takes up the story.
“A small number of ex-players were involved and almost all of them are still with us today. It was played in front of 300 fans.
“We relocated the following year to Cove Rangers Stadium in 2019, and that’s where it has been for the last five events.
“Craig Brown was a huge supporter of the event. He never said no and was always there. When he passed away, we rebranded the event as the Craig Brown Cup a couple of years ago, when we had more than two and a half thousand fans and over 40 players turn up to pay tribute to Craig. Today, we still honour our friend by keeping the cup in his name.
“We have a great team behind it now and it’s only getting bigger each year, with more and more players hearing about the event and wanting to be part of it. We are working with Russell and his foundation now, and we are thrilled. We can’t wait to see everyone in June.”
