The Russell Anderson Foundation (RAF) has named Aberdeen-born DP World Tour professional golfer Richie Ramsay as the charity’s second ambassador, joining Scotland international defender Scott McKenna.
Long-time RAF supporter Richie outlined why he wanted to formalise his association with the charity.
“I’m a proud Aberdonian and I’m excited to announce that I’m going to be an ambassador for the Russell Anderson Foundation."
“I’ve supported RAF for the last few years but now it’s official, the work they do in the city is really essential. They help underprivileged kids and give them opportunities, not just to do with football, but with being a positive role model, nutrition, physical and mental wellbeing, just giving them help when they need it in all facets of life.”
“If you get the chance, please follow RAF on social media, check out the work RAF are doing and, if possible, you can donate and make a difference yourself.”
Russell added. “Richie has been hugely impressive in raising our profile on the European stage for a while now and I’m personally chuffed that his role has now been made official.”
Richie’s ambassadorial appointment was announced to guests at Friday’s annual RAF Charity Ball at the Chester Hotel, which raised over £70,000 for the charity.
